Pancake


This will make 10 pancakes if you use medium sized "senduk". The baking powder makes the pancake soft and brownish.. the ones we normally find served at hotels during breakfast..

Ingredients

2 cups All purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup powdered milk
1/2 tspn baking soda
a pinch of salt

1 3/4 cup water

Topping

Golden syrup / honey

Method

1. Mix everything together with a whisk (except water)
2. Create a well in the middle, pour water and mix well
3. Heat non-stick pan, put a little bit of oil..
4. Scoop into pan.. turn over when the pancake starts to buble..
5. Wait until it's brown
6. Serve with golden syrup or honey.

Kuey Teow Goreng


I make this when I'm really lazy to cook.. It looks as though there are a lot of ingredients.. but the truth is.. it's just so simple to make. This will feed my entire family of 6 (no leftover! ha ha ha)

Bahan-bahan

2 paket kuew teow (basuh dulu dalam penapis.. buang minyak dia)

4 bwang putih (ketuk dengan pisau)

sos tiram
sos tomato
sos cili
kicap
lada sulah (optional but my son insisted the kuey teow tastes better)

12 ekor udang - potong sikit je misai dia.. jgn buang kulit.. (saiz sederhana besar not the small ones and yup I do count them but of course pretend to choose them.. he he he)

kucai (1 cekak-normally it's prepacked!)
taugeh (segenggam besar)

2 biji telur

Cili Jeruk

1-2 cili hijau
cuka
garam
gula

Cara-caranya

Buatla cili jeruk dulu.. campurkan cuka, garam sikit, gula 1 sudu teh dan air 2 sudu teh (jangan banyak sangat air.. nanti tak sempat jadi jeruk bila kuey teow dah siap). Masukkan cili dihiris (jgn nipis sangat) dalam campuran cuka. Kalau boleh letak dalam mangkuk kaca.. jangan pakai sudu besi..

1. Tumis bawang putih yang diketuk sampai dia agak melekit kat sudip / browninsh. Mesti brownish.. nanti tak sedap


2. Masukkan sos tomato, sos cili, sos tiram, kicap. Agak2 je.. janji dia boleh cover semua kuew teow.. jgn terkurang.. ratio sos cili dan tomato sama, sos tiram kurang sikit.. kicap sampai warna cantik.. kalau terlebih takpe.. jadi kuey teow basah.. jgn bubuh garam.. nanti termasin.. adjust kicap kalau kurang masin.


3. masukkan lada sulah, (selalu nina pakai pepper grinder tu 25 kali twist - kalau takde pepper grinder, cubalah satu sudu teh dulu..)

4. masukkan udang.. tunggu sampai warna dia merah... At this point.. boleh rasa.. kalau tawar.. masukkan kicap / sos


5. masukkan kuey teow yang dah dibasuh.. kacau.. kacau.. takut melekat hangit kat kuali. kalau agak kering kuah dia tambah je air.. takut keras, tak sedap pulak..

6. sementara tunggu lembut, boleh basuh kucai dan taugeh..

7. bila kuew teow agak lembut (jgn lembut sangat.. nanti lunyai..) masukkan taugeh dan guntingkan kucai dalam kuali.


8. Sedap kalau taugeh rangup, jadi jangan lama sangat, pecahkan 2 biji telur..

Tip:
Pakai kuali besar.. senang nak masak
Kalau pakai kerang pun lagi sedap.. tapi susah nak cari, nak perisi sendiri hidup2, mintak maaf la banyak2..
